Two young individuals drowned while swimming in a canal in Sharqpur, a tehsil of Sheikhupura district, Punjab.

Rescue sources reported that the victims were bathing in the Upper Chenab Canal when they were swept into deep waters and drowned.

Rescue teams have initiated a search operation to recover the bodies, but no signs have been found so far.

Authorities have assured that the search efforts are still underway.
