Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Azerbaijan on Sunday for a two-day official visit.
Upon landing at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, he was warmly welcomed by senior Azerbaijani officials, including First Deputy Prime Minister Yaqub Abdulla oğlu Eyyubov, Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Khazar Farkhadov, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Qasim Mohiuddin, and other dignitaries.
During his visit, PM Shehbaz will hold high-level meetings with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and other senior officials. He is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, as well as federal ministers Jam Kamal Khan, Abdul Aleem Khan, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
Pakistan and Azerbaijan will engage in discussions to enhance bilateral cooperation in key sectors such as energy, trade, defense, education, and climate. Several agreements and MoUs are expected to be signed to strengthen ties.
The Prime Minister will also deliver a keynote speech at a Business Forum, organized in collaboration with Azerbaijan’s Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO).
Pakistan and Azerbaijan enjoy a strong, brotherly relationship based on trust and long-standing cooperation. Azerbaijan is a key economic and strategic partner for Pakistan, with collaborations spanning multiple sectors.
This visit highlights Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its ties with Azerbaijan, boosting economic partnerships, and exploring new opportunities for mutual growth and development.
