Prime Minister leaves for Azerbaijan on two-day official visit

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has left for a two-day official visit to Azerbaijan at the invitation of President Ilham Aliyev.

He is accompanied by Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, as well as federal ministers Jam Kamal Khan, Abdul Aleem Khan, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.

This is PM Shehbaz’s second visit to Azerbaijan since taking office in March 2024, showing Pakistan’s strong commitment to strengthening ties with Azerbaijan.

During the visit, both countries will discuss ways to boost cooperation in key areas like energy, trade, defense, education, and climate. Several agreements are expected to be signed.

Pakistan and Azerbaijan share a close and friendly relationship based on trust and mutual benefits. Azerbaijan is an important economic and strategic partner for Pakistan.

PM Shehbaz will also speak at a Business Forum organized with Azerbaijan’s Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO). Additionally, he and the Azerbaijani President will visit Fuzuli, a region in the recently liberated Karabakh territories.

This visit highlights Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening economic ties and exploring new opportunities for cooperation with Azerbaijan.
