Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched the Case Assignment and Management System on Friday to modernize the country’s judicial system and ensure transparent, efficient, and speedy justice for litigants.

While addressing the launching ceremony in Islamabad, PM Shehbaz emphasized that the system was long overdue, as litigants and applicants across the country had been seeking transparent and swift justice.

He said: “This initiative will go a long way to address their grievances and provide justice in a reasonable time frame.”

The premier stated that blatant collusion, corruption, and the absence of modern technology had wasted trillions of rupees for decades, *Radio Pakistan* reported.

He urged collective efforts to modernize Pakistan, recover past losses, and secure future gains.

The premier mentioned his recent meeting with Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi, where he urged the top judge to deliver speedy and merit-based decisions in pending cases.

Earlier this week, CJP Afridi invited the premier to his residence, where they discussed the agenda for the upcoming National Judicial Policymaking Committee (NJPMC) meeting.

Speaking at today’s event, the premier vowed to recover every penny owed for the betterment of the people of Pakistan.

He thanked all stakeholders, including international partners, the United Nations (UN), and Canada, for designing and financially supporting the Case Assignment and Management System.

The Country Representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes (UNODC), Troels Vester, reaffirmed support for the Pakistan government and the Ministry of Law and Justice in implementing modern technology for governance. He praised PM Shehbaz’s leadership for initiating governance reforms to modernize the country’s justice system.
