During his visit, Grossi met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar to discuss strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and the IAEA, particularly in the peaceful use of nuclear technology to combat climate change.

He also held formal discussions with the Chairman of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) and the Chairman of the Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA), where he was briefed on Pakistan’s advancements in nuclear science and technology, with contributions in agriculture, healthcare, and energy production highlighted.

Grossi participated in an international conference organized by the Pakistan chapter of Women in Nuclear Field (WIN-Pakistan), where he praised the country’s efforts to promote women’s participation in nuclear and related fields.

He also visited the Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Oncology Lahore (INMOL), where he inaugurated a new radiopharmaceutical laboratory and announced support under the IAEA’s ‘Rays of Hope’ initiative.

Grossi toured the under-construction Chashma Power Plant Unit 5 (C-5), calling Pakistan’s nuclear power program one of the most successful globally. Additionally, he inaugurated a radioactive waste incinerator at Chashma.
