Karachi Police have arrested a member of a child kidnapping gang in Surjani Town. The suspect confessed to abducting two children and demanding a ransom of Rs. 1.5 crore from their families.
Police stated that the gang kidnapped the children on March 26, 2024, by stopping their school van near FB Area, stealing the driver’s phone, and escaping. The suspect is also facing charges under the Illegal Arms Act for possessing illegal weapons.
This arrest came as authorities were investigating another case involving Sarim, a 7-year-old madrasa student. Sarim went missing on January 7 after failing to return home. His family filed a missing person’s report, fearing abduction.
