An Iranian fighter jet crashed on Wednesday morning in the western part of the country. Both pilots managed to eject safely before the crash, avoiding any fatalities.
In an unrelated incident, two senior Iranian Supreme Court judges were shot dead in Tehran on January 18, according to Iran’s judiciary.
The attacker opened fire on the judges inside the Supreme Court, injuring a bodyguard before taking his own life.
The judges were identified as mid-ranking Shi’ite Muslim clerics Mohammad Moghiseh and Ali Razini. Both had been deeply involved in handling sensitive national security cases, including those related to espionage and terrorism.
Judiciary spokesperson Asghar Jahangir stated on state television that these judges had played key roles in identifying spies and dismantling terrorist groups, efforts that have provoked hostility from enemies.
