BIEK abolishes scrutiny fee for first year papers

KARACHI: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has abolished the scrutiny fee for students seeking to review first year papers.

According to the BIEK statement, special counters have been set up for female students in the board office, instructions have also been issued to the moderators of examinations to complete the scrutiny within 30 days.

The announcement said that students can download the scrutiny form from the official website of Interboard.

A committee consisting of senior teachers has also been formed on the results of the first year examinations.

It should be noted that intermediate results have limited the chances of Karachi students going to professional educational institutions.

In the intermediate first year, 66% of the students in the pre-medical group and 74% in the pre-engineering group failed.

The recently deposed Chairman BIEK Amir Hussain Qadri defended the results and said that he says with full responsibility that these results are in accordance with the merits.
