The Pakistani rupee (PKR) ended the day with losses against the US Dollar (USD) after opening trade at 279 in the interbank market. The interbank exchange rate remained between 278 and 279/$ throughout the day before closing at 278.
In the open market, rates for the US dollar ranged between 278 and 281. The rupee faced a bearish trend and closed negatively against the greenback.
On a day-on-day (DoD) basis, the rupee depreciated by 0.02%, losing six paisas to settle at 278.62 against the US Dollar.
In terms of fiscal performance, the PKR has depreciated by 0.12% so far in the current fiscal year.
Against other major currencies, the rupee saw declines in the interbank market. It lost one paisa against both the UAE Dirham (AED) and Saudi Riyal (SAR).
The rupee also slipped by eight paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD), Rs. 1.28 against the Euro (EUR), and Rs. 1.52 against the British Pound (GBP). Additionally, the PKR weakened by 48 paisas against the Australian Dollar (AUD) today.
