Manoj Bajpayee, celebrated for his versatile performances in Bollywood, recently addressed his absence from Bollywood’s glitzy parties and the perception of him as aloof.

In an interview with Indian Express, the Gangs of Wasseypur actor explained why he avoids the social scene, revealing, “Now people don’t even invite me because they have realized why to be offended and humiliated by me not attending, which I am very happy with.”

He shared that his early bedtime and preference for peaceful mornings keep him away from late-night gatherings. “Please don’t call me because I like to sleep by 10-10:30 pm, and I am always looking forward to my early mornings,” he added.

Despite his reserved demeanor, Bajpayee maintains close friendships with industry figures like Kay Kay Menon, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Sharib Hashmi, though his busy schedule limits his social circle.

Addressing misconceptions, Bajpayee noted that his self-respect is often mistaken for arrogance. “If some view this as arrogance, I’m fine with it,” he said, adding that people who spend time with him realize he is a “grateful person” who values his privacy.

On the work front, Bajpayee continues to deliver acclaimed performances, with his latest film, Despatch, premiering on ZEE5 on December 13, 2024.
