The Punjab Excise Department has launched a vanity number plates initiative, enabling citizens to personalize their vehicle registration plates through an online bidding system. The project was inaugurated at Alhamra Hall in Lahore, with several key officials in attendance.
Excise Secretary Masood Mukhtar highlighted that citizens could now have their names displayed on their vehicle plates under the new scheme. He noted a strong public interest in the initiative, with many participating in the online bidding process.
The scheme offers three categories: Platinum, Gold, and Corporate, providing options for a wide range of applicants. Mukhtar also announced plans to extend the application deadline to allow more people to take part.
Excise Director General Umar Sher Chattha added that the project is expected to contribute significantly to the national treasury.
The vanity plates can be obtained through a transparent and competitive online process, ensuring easy access for all interested citizens.
