Likewise, egg prices have also jumped, with a dozen now costing Rs 380, compared to Rs 292 previously. Country eggs have seen an even higher rise, selling for Rs 650 per dozen.

The sudden price hikes are a major concern for many, particularly those from lower-income households. With the colder weather just around the corner, families are already preparing for higher heating and utility costs, making the rise in food prices an added financial burden.

Citizens have expressed their frustration over the price increases, questioning the reasons behind the sudden surge and whether it is justified. Many have called on local authorities to take action, urging the government to regulate the poultry market to prevent further inflationary pressures.
