The KIA Sportage Hybrid, globally launched in 2021 as part of the fifth-generation lineup, has recently been seen on Pakistani roads, sparking excitement about its potential launch.
This model, spotted during road testing, is registered under Lucky Motor Corporation Limited (LMCL), KIA’s official distributor in Pakistan, according to Sindh Excise Department records.
This suggests LMCL might introduce the Sportage Hybrid to Pakistan in the coming year.
What to Expect from the KIA Sportage Hybrid
The 5th Gen KIA Sportage Hybrid combines efficiency, style, and advanced technology. Key features include:
- Hybrid Powertrain: Powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine paired with a 60-hp electric motor and a 1.49 kWh battery, the vehicle produces a combined 226 horsepower.
- Fuel Efficiency: The hybrid model boasts fuel economy of 16-18 km/liter in the international market, offering a more fuel-efficient alternative to current non-hybrid models in Pakistan.
- Safety and Technology: Internationally, the Sportage Hybrid includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking for enhanced safety.
- Modern Design: The Sportage features a striking design with a bold front grille, LED headlights, and a sleek shape. The interior includes a high-resolution digital display, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and a spacious cabin.
- Eco-Friendly Option: Launching the KIA Sportage Hybrid aligns with Pakistan’s gradual shift toward greener vehicles.
Launch Expectations
While LMCL has yet to confirm an official launch date, recent road tests and registration indicate the model may arrive in the Pakistani market next year.
