HYDERABAD: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and police arrested a terrorist engaged in planning terrorism during a joint operation in Hyderabad.

CTD and police arrested a terrorist of a banned organization during a joint raid in Hyderabad city of Sindh.

CTD officials said that grenades, IED-making equipment were recovered from the terrorist, while ball bearings, batteries, remote controls, tapes and other items were also recovered.

Officials said that the bomb disposal squad has been called, the arrested terrorist has been identified as Ayaz Janja, the terrorist was planning a terrorist attack in the area.

Earlier, at least 12 terrorists were arrested by the Counter-Terrorism Department during raids in various cities of Punjab.

CTD spokesperson said that weapons and explosives were recovered from the arrested terrorists, the terrorists wanted to spread fear and panic among the people by taking action at different places.
