KARACHI: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and business community are ready to provide all possible support and assistance to the Supreme Court in tax cases, said President FPCCI Atif Ikram Shaikh.
The FPCCI chief said, “We are thankful to the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi for taking the business community on board regarding tax cases. The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry is ready to provide all possible support in tax cases, they will cooperate with the committee formed under the direction of the Chief Justice.”
Sheikh said that the FBR imposes a heavy burden of taxes on the taxpayers, it is necessary to increase the number of taxpayers to increase the tax net, tax collection can be increased through the FBR reforms.
He further said that there is a lot of room for improvement in FBR’s tax system, FBR digitization can increase tax collection and get rid of tax cases.
