Timothée Chalamet look-alike contest in Washington turns out unexpectedly

  • Timothée Chalamet look-alike contest took an unexpected turn.
  • The event attracted many attendees dressed as Chalamet.
  • The contest led to a massive turnout, forcing police to intervene.

On Sunday, October 27, a Timothée Chalamet look-alike contest in Washington Square Park, Manhattan, took an unexpected turn when the actor himself showed up, delighting fans by taking photos with his doppelgangers.

The event, hosted by YouTube personality Anthony Po, attracted many attendees dressed as Chalamet’s characters from films like Dune and Wonka. The winner, 21-year-old Miles Mitchell from Staten Island, was crowned and awarded a quirky trophy.

The contest gained significant attention on social media, leading to a massive turnout. However, police quickly intervened, shutting down the event minutes after it started and issuing a $500 fine to the organizers for holding an “unpermitted costume contest.” One person received a summons for disorderly conduct.

Despite the disruption, the contest was relocated to another park, where it continued. Miles expressed his excitement, saying, “There were so many good look-alikes. It was really a toss-up.” Paige Nguyen, a producer for Anthony Po, remarked, “It started off as a silly joke, and now it’s turned pandemonium.” Online, fans reacted to the chaos, with one user tweeting, “idk what’s crazier: the fact that the REAL Timothée Chalamet showed up or the fact a fake Timothée getting ARRESTED.”
