ISLAMABAD: Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko arrived in Islamabad for three day official visit on Sunday.

This visit comes at the invitation of Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani and marks a pivotal moment in the growing diplomatic and parliamentary ties between the two nations.

The visit is anticipated to further solidify Pakistan-Russia relations, with her engagements planned at the highest levels of leadership.

Besides meeting with Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani and Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Ms. Valentina Matvienko will call on President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

These high-profile meetings are expected to focus on enhancing mutual cooperation in Parliamentary diplomacy, cultural exchange, and key areas of bilateral interest.
