- The PCB is expected to announce the new captain and squad within two days.
Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan is expected to be named the new white-ball captain for the national cricket team.
According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Rizwan have reached an agreement on the captaincy for the limited-overs format. However, it was revealed that Rizwan initially sought the authority to finalize the playing XI, a request that the PCB declined.
When Rizwan was first offered the captaincy, he reportedly turned it down, prompting the PCB to consider Salman Ali Agha for the leadership role.
Following the formation of a new selection committee, Rizwan agreed to lead the national team in white-ball cricket.
The PCB is expected to officially announce the new white-ball captain and squad within the next two days.
