Over 700,000 Bangladeshi expatriates live and work in the UAE, making up a significant portion of the country’s population. These citizens are involved in various jobs and businesses across all seven emirates.
As per UAE law, all residents, including Bangladeshis, must hold a valid Emirates ID card. Failure to renew or possess this ID can result in legal complications. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) is responsible for issuing and renewing Emirates ID cards.
Bangladeshi nationals can apply through the ICP website or visit accredited typing centers to renew the Emirates ID. In some cases, applicants may need to visit an ICP service center to provide biometric data.
Here is the fee structure for renewing the Emirates ID:
- AED 100 (for five years): Card issuance fee
- AED 150: Service fee
- AED 30: Typing center fee
- AED 150: Urgent service fee at customer happiness centers
All residents must keep their Emirates ID up to date to avoid penalties.
