The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are investigating whether Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader, was killed during a recent military operation in Gaza.
According to an IDF statement, three Hamas fighters were killed in the operation, and preliminary assessments indicate a strong possibility that Sinwar could be one of them.
The operation targeted a building where the IDF reported there were no signs of hostages being held.
A senior Israeli official told that the security forces believe there is a significant chance Sinwar was among those killed, though the IDF has not yet confirmed the identities of the dead militants.
