ISLAMABAD: The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) emphasized that safeguarding the lives and property of citizens remains the government’s top priority.
During a grand Jirga in Peshawar, hosted by KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur, several key figures were in attendance, including Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, and leaders from various political parties.
Addressing the gathering, Gandapur highlighted that all participants had set aside their political differences to come together for the sake of peace. He expressed hope that the Jirga would lead to a peaceful resolution of issues, stressing that violence or confrontation is not the answer, but dialogue is essential to solving problems.
Governor KP Faisal Karim Kundi echoed these sentiments, reiterating that peace in the province is the main objective of the Jirga. He expressed gratitude to the provincial government for organizing the event and noted that while political disagreements exist, the well-being and prosperity of the people should always come first. He emphasized that dialogue is the key to addressing challenges, especially with those who respect the constitution and law, and urged for a solution to be found through talks.
Kundi also pointed out the deteriorating law-and-order situation, noting that many areas have become inaccessible. He called for unity to restore peace and stability to the province.
