Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has raised over $1 billion since launching her campaign.
Her fundraising efforts far surpass those of former president Donald Trump, who has gathered around $430 million in the past three months.
Although other candidates have hit the billion-dollar mark before, Harris’ rapid pace gives her a significant advantage. The official amount raised has yet to be confirmed by the Democratic Party.
Trump, despite his strong following and support from influential figures like Tesla’s Elon Musk, who donated $79 million, and billionaire Timothy Mellon, who gave $115 million, is struggling to match his previous fundraising totals from 2020. This raises concerns for his campaign as the election approaches.
Meanwhile, Harris has emerged as a powerful force, becoming one of the top female candidates in terms of fundraising.
Sarah Bryner from the group OpenSecrets described Harris’ fundraising success as “unprecedented,” with experts worldwide praising her ability to gather campaign funds.
