The export of sports goods from Pakistan grew by 4.27% during the first two months of the fiscal year 2024-25, compared to the same period last year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Between July and August 2024, Pakistan exported sports goods worth $61.982 million, up from $59.442 million in the same months of 2023, showing steady growth. Football exports saw a significant rise, increasing by 8.35% to $38.713 million from $35.728 million last year.
However, gloves exports slightly decreased by 1.38%, falling to $9.299 million from $9.429 million in the previous year. Other sports goods exports also dipped by 2.21%, dropping to $13.970 million from $14.285 million last year.
On a year-on-year basis, sports goods exports in August 2024 decreased by 2.18%, totalling $32.624 million compared to $33.350 million in August 2023. Football exports, however, rose by 3.84% during the same period, while gloves and other sports products declined by 17.98% and 6.32%, respectively.
In contrast, on a month-on-month basis, sports goods exports saw an 11.12% rise in August 2024, reaching $32.624 million compared to $29.358 million in July 2024. Football exports increased by 17.79%, and the export of gloves and other sports products grew by 1.89% and 0.23%, respectively, during the same period.
