The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced plans to hire a sports medicine consultant to improve the diagnosis and management of fitness issues among cricketers at both domestic and international levels.

This decision addresses ongoing challenges in identifying and treating player injuries that have affected their performance.

The PCB has issued a public advertisement inviting qualified professionals to apply for the role. The consultant will be responsible for diagnosing and treating injuries, managing players’ rehabilitation, and working closely with physiotherapists and trainers from both the national and domestic teams. This collaborative effort aims to ensure that cricketers’ fitness is maintained effectively.

Candidates applying for the position must hold an MBBS degree, have at least 10 years of relevant experience, and possess a deep understanding of sports culture.

Strong decision-making skills are also essential for the role. Interested applicants have until October 10 to submit their applications.

The PCB has been without a director of medical services since the resignation of Dr. Sohail Saleem. By appointing a qualified Sports Medicine consultant, the PCB hopes to fill this gap and better manage the health and fitness needs of cricketers, ensuring improved performance and reduced injury risks in the future.
