ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held an important meeting with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif to discuss a significant appointment, according to sources.

The meeting took place at Jati Umra and primarily centered around an upcoming appointment for a key position.

During the meeting, PM Shehbaz Sharif informed his brother Nawaz Sharif about the proposed candidate and sought his input.

Sources indicated that Nawaz Sharif shared his decision regarding the appointment, which involves a critical institution with nationwide impact. The individual under consideration currently holds a position in Punjab.

The sources clarified that the appointment does not pertain to the judiciary. Due to its importance, PM Shehbaz chose to meet Nawaz in person rather than discuss the matter over the phone.

It was noted that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was also present at the meeting. In addition to discussing the appointment, PM Shehbaz provided Nawaz Sharif with a comprehensive update on the country’s current situation and the ongoing consultations with allied political parties.
