KARACHI: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) informed the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday that the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, has been restored for users across the country.
PTA’s lawyer, Ahsan Imam, stated that the authority has revoked its earlier notification that suspended X services in Pakistan. The response came after the SHC requested the PTA’s position on the platform’s ban. Following this update, the court postponed the hearing for two weeks.
Previously, on April 17, the SHC had directed the Ministry of Interior to cancel its order suspending Twitter within a week. The original ban on X was implemented in February, following the general elections in 2024.
