Naqvi lauds police for foiling terrorist attack in Mianwali

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has commended the police for foiling a terrorist attack on a check post in Mianwali.

He said that the Punjab Police has once again thwarted the nefarious designs of the Fitna Al Khawarij terrorists.

The minister praised the police personnel deployed at the Isa Khel police station checkpost for bravely repulsing the attack by 14 Khawarij terrorists.

He said that the police gave a befitting response to the terrorists who attacked under the cover of darkness.

He saluted the brave police personnel who foiled the terrorist attack, saying that the Punjab Police had once again thwarted the evil intentions of the Khawarij terrorists.

He added that the police have always shown bravery and courage in the fight against terrorism.

He highlighted that the police are a bulwark against terrorism, which is highly commendable.

At least two policemen sustained injuries after more than a dozen terrorists attacked Qabool Khel police check post in Punjab’s Mianwali.

According to a police spokesperson, about 12 to 14 khawarij attacked the check post with rockets and hand grenades.

However, the Punjab Police thwarted attacked by the terrorists after which they escaped, said the spokesperson, adding that two cops were injured in the attack.

Earlier, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has said that those who are killing innocent people and challenging the writ of the state are terrorists and they should not be called dissident Baloch.

He said this while talking to media persons, here on Sunday.

He said that the blood of Pakistanis has been shed, it will be avenged, lamenting that it was observed that the terrorists were given space.

The Balochistan CM thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir for their cooperation.
