25 Punjab policemen refuse to take part in Katch area operation  

LAHORE: The personnel of Punjab Police have refused to participate in the operation being conducted in Rajanpur Katch area.

According to details, 25 constables got off from the bus on the way after they set off from Farooqabad Constabulary.

The cops, who left for Rajanpur last day, got off near Zahirpir Interchange. Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar visited the Katch areas four days before to encourage the police forces.

The constables, who declined to go to Rajanpur’s Katch area, clearly told their Incharge that they were ready to face every consequences but they would not go there. The Punjab IGP claimed that no one was absent in reinforcement called for the Katch area operation.

It is pertinent to mention here, on August 22, at least 11 police personnel were martyred in an attack on two police vehicles by robbers in Rahim Yar Khan’s Tehsil Sadiqabad.

The police personnel were returning from duty in the Fatehpur Basti Salman area when their vehicles were ambushed. According to sources, there were over 15 police officers in the two vehicles, making it a massive targeted attack.

According to the police spokesman, two police vehicles were returning from their weekly duty in the Kacha area when one of them suddenly broke down. Taking advantage of the situation, the attackers launched a rocket assault on the stranded vehicle.
