Karachi: Clash between two groups left two dead and 10 injured near Golimar, Karachi on Sunday.
Chhipa sources said that the dead and injured people were shifted to Dr. Ruth K. M. Pfau, Civil Hospital and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Some vehicles were also set on fire by miscreants in the aftermaths of firing.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took the notice of the firing at the rally of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat in Golimar.
The CM condemned the incident and expressed grief over the loss of precious life in result of the firing. He instructed immediate arrest of those who fired at the rally.
Murad said that the government would never allow anyone to disturb peace in the city. He also asked the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat to remain peaceful.
The CM ordered the district administration and police to sort out the issues, adding that senior officers should look into the matter themselves and talk to the leadership of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat.
Meanwhile, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori also contacted the Additional IG Karachi and took details about the incident and instructed him to maintain the law and order situation at all cost.
Earlier, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Linjar sought details from the SSP Central District and directed him to take foolproof security measures. He further ordered the authorities concerned to immediately arrest the culprits and take stern action against law breakers.
The Ranger and police high-ups rushed the crime scene and reviewed the situation. Earlier, some vehicles were also set on fire by miscreants in the aftermaths of the firing. Heavy contingent of police and Rangers has been deployed in the locality to control the situation.
According to details, a rally was being taken out by Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat when it reached the Rizvia Society, Golimar, it was fired on. Resultantly two people were killed and many others injured.
The dead and the injured were identified as Sherry Son of unknown, age 17 and Junaid, son of Intizar Mehdi, 25, who lost their lives.
Whereas Hazrat Umar, son of Muhammad Ghani, age 30; Hamza son of Shafiq,17; Kausar, son of Ghulam Muhammad, 35; Muhammad Ibrahim, son of Muhammad Qasim, 26; Hanzala, son of Yusuf, 35; Mohib, son of Nazarullah, 35; Abdul Rahim, son of Abdul Aleem, 27; Umair, son of Abdul Salam, 18 were injured, as per Chhipa sources.
