The Punjab government has updated the working hours for teachers in all government schools across the province, effective immediately.

The Punjab Education Department has released a notification indicating that teachers will now work from 7:45 am to 2:30 pm.

On Fridays, teachers will finish their day at 12:30 pm, and on Saturdays, they are required to attend school from 9 am to 12 pm.

Previously, the provincial education department had set the working hours for teachers from 8 am to 3 pm.

Summer vacations in schools across Punjab, including Lahore, ended on August 14, and all schools reopened on August 15, 2024.

The Punjab School Education Department has also announced the new school hours schedule, effective from August 15, when schools resumed after the summer break.

New School Timings in Punjab

According to the notification, schools running a morning shift will operate from 8 am to 1:30 pm from Monday to Thursday, with classes ending at 12 pm on Fridays.

For schools with double shifts and afternoon shifts, the morning session will be from 8 am to 12 pm, the afternoon session from 1 pm to 5:30 pm, and on Fridays, the evening shift will be from 2 pm to 5:30 pm.
