ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has officially designated the Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group and the Majeed Brigade Group as proscribed organizations due to their involvement in terrorism.

The two groups have now been added to the list of banned organizations. They were under surveillance for two years before the ban was imposed. The decision came after substantial evidence of their terrorist activities was discovered.

Hafiz Gul Bahadur, once a government contractor, leads the strongest militant group in North Waziristan. The Majeed Brigade, established in 2011, is a highly lethal guerilla unit of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), primarily targeting security forces and Chinese interests in Pakistan.
