- Murree and other hill stations crowded during summer vacations.
- Jamaat-e-Islami protests blocking major roads in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
- Tourists advised to postpone travel plans or wait for situation to improve.
Murree, Nathia Gali, and other nearby tourist destinations experience a significant influx of visitors when the summer season starts, primarily due to school vacations.
As the summer vacation of 2024 continues, families are either planning or already heading towards these hill stations to enjoy quality time. However, there is an alert for those planning to vacation from July 27.
Tourists may encounter difficulties traveling to Murree and other connected areas as Jamaat-e-Islami is organizing sit-ins at various points in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, blocking major roads.
The religio-political party is protesting against high electricity bills and independent power plants (IPPs). The protesters, who began their campaign on July 26, are demanding the government provide relief to the public.
JI Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman is expected to hold a press conference today near Liaquat Bagh, where the sit-in is taking place, to announce his future plans.
Latest Alert for Tourists in Pakistan
Due to the sit-in, Murree Road is completely closed to traffic from Marir Hassan to Committee Chowk. Travelers will be unable to continue their journey towards the hill station from this point.
It would be advisable for them to postpone their plans or wait in a safe place until the situation is resolved.
