Islamabad schools summer vacations extended

FDE cancels Saturday holiday in Islamabad schools

Islamabad schools summer vacations extended

ISLAMABAD: Summer vacations for all public and private schools in Islamabad are set to end on July 31, despite the ongoing abnormal weather and intense heat.

The break began on June 1 and was initially scheduled to end on July 31, with schools reopening on August 31.

In contrast, the Sindh Education Department has extended summer vacations until August 14 due to the hot and humid conditions in the region.

This decision, directed by Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah, also pushes the start of the new academic year in Sindh to August 15.

In light of this extension in Sindh, students and parents in Islamabad have called for a similar extension in the federal schools’ holiday schedule.

They argue that the current weather conditions warrant a reassessment of the end date for summer vacations.

The federal government is expected to review the situation, but no official decision has been announced yet.
