Islamabad’s schools are set for a green upgrade as the government plans to install solar panels in educational institutions. This initiative aims to boost the use of renewable energy and reduce reliance on traditional power sources.
The project will begin with 44 schools receiving solar panels first, with a gradual expansion to include additional schools. These solar panels will help schools save on energy costs and reduce their carbon emissions.
The government has allocated Rs 200 million for this project, which is expected to generate 10 megawatts of electricity. This effort is part of a broader plan to support sustainable development and minimize environmental pollution.
Additionally, the initiative aims to raise awareness among students about the importance of renewable energy and sustainability. By observing solar panels in action, students can learn firsthand about clean energy and its benefits for the planet.
