The Punjab government is advancing technology in schools to enhance students’ digital literacy and prepare them for the future, with plans to provide budget laptops to school students.
To facilitate new tech training, the Punjab School Education Department has partnered with Tech Valley from the United Kingdom and Canada to distribute Chromebooks to 200 schools. The agreement, endorsed by Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, aims to boost digital learning and IT proficiency among students and teachers.
In addition to distributing laptops, Tech Valley will conduct IT training for thousands of students and teachers in Punjab, with support from Google for Education.
Punjab Education Minister stated that matriculation and intermediate students will receive training under this initiative, which seeks to improve Punjab’s educational environment by imparting essential digital skills to students and preparing them for future challenges.
