The federal government of Pakistan is expected to increase petroleum prices for the second half of July 2024 due to new taxes introduced following the approval of the budget for the fiscal year 2024-25.
The revised petrol prices will be announced on the night of July 15 and will come into effect from July 16.
Earlier, on July 1, 2024, the government had already increased petrol and diesel prices. The petrol price was raised by Rs7.45 per litre, while the diesel price saw an increase of Rs9.56 per litre.
Current Petrol Prices in Pakistan
- Petrol: Rs265.61 per litre
- High-Speed Diesel: Rs277.45 per litre
Expected New Petrol and Diesel Prices
It is anticipated that the federal government will further increase the petrol price by Rs7.68 per litre and the diesel price by Rs3.72 per litre.

- Expected High-Speed Diesel Price: Rs281.17 per litre
