DUBAI – The Ministry of Interior issues passports to UAE nationals. The Emirati passport is considered the strongest in the Arab region.
It is required to keep a valid passport while travelling abroad as they can be denied boarding the flight if they are carrying an expired document.
UAE citizens can apply for the passport renewal if it is expired or going to expire in six months.
UAE nationals can renew their passports through different channels. They can do it at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) or the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Port Security website.

The passport renewal facility is also available at Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah airports.
UAE Passport Renewal Fee in July 2024
In July 2024, renewing an Emirati passport costs 10 AED for the request, 40 AED for the issue, and 15 AED for delivery.
