- Rachin Ravindra gets central contract.
- Red-ball specialist Ajaz Patel back in the mix.
- Kane Williamson opts out of central contract.
After a remarkable season, New Zealand’s all-rounder Rachin Ravindra has been awarded a central contract by New Zealand Cricket for the 2024/2025 season.
The proposed list for the 20-player central contracts also features fast bowlers Ben Sears, Will O’Rourke, and Jacob Duffy. Additionally, red-ball spinner Ajaz Patel has regained a contract after missing out in the last cycle.
Among the players contracted last year, Kane Williamson, Lockie Ferguson, and Adam Milne have decided not to pursue a central contract for the forthcoming season.
Williamson, having relinquished his role as New Zealand’s white-ball captain post the T20 World Cup, has committed to a casual playing contract for the 2024-25 season, indicating his ongoing commitment to the team.
Moreover, Blair Tickner has not been granted a central contract, and with Neil Wagner’s retirement, he is absent from the contract list.
