Recently, the Punjab Excise and Taxation Department introduced a new registration fee schedule for different vehicles, including the popular Honda CG 125 motorcycle, following approval of the Budget 2024–25 by the provincial government.
From today onwards, all citizens purchasing motorcycles, including the Honda CG 125, must register their vehicles with the Excise Department to avoid legal issues and traffic fines.
Honda CG 125
The 2024 Honda CG 125 model showcases a streamlined design that improves its aerodynamic performance, ensuring a fast and comfortable ride. It includes a 4-stroke OHV air-cooled engine with a kick-start option and a telescopic fork front suspension, making it highly favored among motorcycle enthusiasts.
New Registration Fee Structure
The Punjab Assembly has passed the budget for the fiscal year 2024–25, which includes new tax measures and adjustments to registration fees for motorcycles and cars. Under the updated fee schedule, the registration fee for motorcycles and scooters, like the Honda CG 125, has been set at Rs 1,500. Additionally, there will be a 10% annual fee for registration transfers within the first 10 years.

The updated registration fee structure aims to simplify the registration process and ensure all motorcycles are properly documented with the Excise Department.
