Reactions from Transporters

The transporters have strongly opposed the increase in toll tax, with the Supreme Council of All Pakistan Transporters denouncing the hike as “unacceptable and harsh.” They argue that they are already grappling with substantial financial challenges due to the soaring costs of diesel, spare parts, and tires. The additional burden of heightened toll taxes will only worsen their plight.

In a statement, the council expressed, “We are already struggling with the high costs of diesel, spare parts, and tires, and the increased toll tax will add significant hardship.”

The new toll tax rates will take effect on July 1, 2024. Transporters and other road users are advised to prepare for these adjustments and revise their budgets accordingly.
