Lahore’s free Wi-Fi service is expanding following a directive from Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif. This initiative aims to enhance digital connectivity across the city.
Lahore Free Wi-Fi Locations
The Punjab Safe City Authority has increased the number of active Wi-Fi access points for the “CM Maryam Nawaz Free Wi-Fi” service from 100 to 200.
This expansion brings the service to additional areas in Lahore, including Manga Mandi, Multan Road, Bund Road, Chohang, Shahpur Kanjran, Sunder, Valencia, and Maraka.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized that this free Wi-Fi service is part of the Digital Punjab Vision and is vital for emergency connectivity.
It allows people to contact the police, connect with family members, and access essential services such as women’s safety apps and Punjab police apps.
Additionally, it supports applications like WhatsApp and taxi booking apps, making daily life more convenient.
However, the “CM Maryam Nawaz Free Wi-Fi” service prioritizes utility and does not support entertainment apps like Facebook, YouTube, or TikTok.
Each Wi-Fi device covers an area of up to 300 feet from its access point, ensuring wide coverage.
