LAHORE: Treasury bench member in Punjab Assembly Iftikhar Chachar tabled a resolution against higher judiciary in the house on Monday.
Addressing the assembly session, he said that higher judiciary a number of times interfered in administrative affairs, adding the house demanded that interference in administration and the legislature should be stopped at once.
He maintained that the power of any state depends on the strength of its institutions, adding that there are three strong organs of the state – legislature, executive and judiciary and they have their own respective domains.
Members of treasury benches started making anti-judiciary speeches in the house, he said and added that judicial activism intervened in state affairs several times
The members of the government started expressing their opinions against the resolution presented in the House against the Supreme Judiciary.
