Weather Update: Rains predicted in Pakistan from June 04

Forecasters predict intermittent rain, wind, and thunderstorms in the northern regions of Pakistan from June 4 to June 7, offering relief from the prevailing heatwave. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts the arrival of a shallow westerly wave in the upper and central parts of the country by Tuesday evening, potentially persisting for the next three days.

This weather system is expected to bring intermittent rain, wind, and thunderstorms across various regions of Pakistan during the specified period. Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are likely to experience such weather conditions from June 3 (evening/night) to June 8, with occasional breaks.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, dust storms, thunderstorms, and rains are expected in several districts from June 4 (evening/night) to June 8, again with intermittent breaks.

Similarly, Punjab, Islamabad, and surrounding areas are forecasted to experience dust storms, thunderstorms, and rains from June 4 to June 6, with occasional interruptions. Additionally, some districts in the region may experience similar weather conditions from June 5 (evening/night) to June 7.

Balochistan is anticipated to have dust storms, thunderstorms, and isolated rains from June 5 (evening/night) to June 7.

In Sindh, dust storms, gusty winds, and isolated rain-thunderstorms are expected in specific areas on June 6 and June 7.

Possible impacts include disruptions to daily activities, potential damage to standing crops, loose structures such as electric poles and vehicles, and solar panels. However, the forecast indicates a likely decrease in heatwave conditions across the country during this period.
