The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that Eid ul Adha is likely to be celebrated on Monday, June 17, 2024. According to the Climate Data Processing Centre of the Met Office, the crescent moon for Dhul-Hijjah is expected to appear on June 6 at 5:38 PM.
“The moon’s age in Karachi at sunset will be 26 hours and 8 minutes,” the PMD reported, noting that “the moon is expected to be visible for 72 minutes after sunset.”
The report also mentioned that the moon must be at least 19 hours old to be visible. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will officially confirm the date for Eid ul Adha soon.
Additionally, the establishment division has declared holidays from June 17 to 19 for Eid ul Adha this year. Official notifications regarding these holidays will be issued by the federal and provincial governments a few days prior to Eid.
