In an exciting development for Election Commission employees, the government has announced a bonus equivalent to three salaries for their exemplary conduct of elections.

Letters sent to provincial election commissioners reveal that the country’s electoral watchdog will grant this bonus to both employees and officers.

However, the ECP letter specifies that those under departmental inquiries or involved with services tribunals or the judiciary are ineligible for this bonus. This follows an earlier bonus of two salaries for ECP employees who managed the general elections in February.

According to the finance ministry’s rules, no institution can award more than five bonuses to its staff in a single fiscal year. Previously, Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja commended the staff, agency personnel, and local administration for their efforts in ensuring a peaceful election process, enabling a smooth transfer of power from the caretakers to the elected government.
