Traffic police in Punjab have kicked off a crackdown on drivers without valid licenses, aiming to ensure road safety across the province.

Anyone caught driving a motorcycle, car, or heavy vehicle without a license may face penalties or legal action. All citizens must carry their licenses, issued by the Traffic Police of Punjab when driving.

Officers stationed at various points in Lahore and Rawalpindi have been instructed to verify driver’s licenses upon request—failure to produce a valid license results in a traffic ticket being issued.

To address situations where drivers forget or misplace their licenses, the Punjab Police has introduced an online service offering electronic copies of licenses.

To obtain an e-license, residents of Lahore and Rawalpindi can visit http://dlims.punjab.gov.pk. After selecting the e-license option and entering their CNIC number and date of birth, they can download a PDF copy of their license.

This digital alternative ensures drivers have access to their license at all times, directly from their smartphones, facilitating smooth interactions with traffic police.
