The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is fast approaching, with the event scheduled to start in the United States and West Indies from June 1.

A total of 20 qualifying teams are divided into four groups of five. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eight round.

In the Super Eight stage, the qualifying teams will be split into two groups of four. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals, and the winners will compete in the final.

Groups for T20 World Cup 2024:

– Group A: India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, United States

– Group B: England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, Oman

– Group C: New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, Papua New Guinea

– Group D: South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands, Nepal

India currently leads the ICC T20I Rankings, followed by Australia and England in second and third place, respectively. South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka occupy the fourth to eighth positions.

Based on the current ICC T20I Rankings, these are the teams likely to qualify for the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup.

D2 – Sri Lanka

Super 8 – Group 2

B1 – Australia

D1 – South Africa

C2 – West Indies

A2 – Pakistan

The semi-finals of the event are scheduled for June 26 in Guyana and June 27 in Trinidad, with the World Cup final set to take place in Barbados on June 29.

In the West Indies, the matches will be held at several venues: Kensington Oval in Barbados, Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad, Providence Stadium in Guyana, Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua, Darren Sammy Cricket Ground in St Lucia, and Arnos Vale Stadium in St Vincent.

In the United States, games will be hosted at three locations: Eisenhower Park in New York, Lauderhill in Florida, and Grand Prairie in Texas.
