The Punjab government has decided to close all public and private schools for seven days due to a heatwave, starting Monday.
According to a notification issued by the Punjab government, “All the public and private schools shall remain closed from May 25 to May 31.”
The decision aims to ensure the safety of students amid the severe heatwave. However, schools are permitted to conduct exams as scheduled, provided they take the necessary precautions.
Earlier, the Pakistan Disaster Management Authority had issued a heatwave warning for different parts of the country, highlighting the risks and urging people to take preventive measures.
The temporary school closure is part of efforts to protect students and staff during this period of extreme temperatures.
