United Arab Emirates citizens can look forward to a five-day break for Eid-ul-Adha celebrations. Foreign media reports indicate Eid al-Adha is likely to fall on Monday, June 17, 2024.
This translates to consecutive holidays from Monday to Thursday, with the addition of Sunday, making it a long weekend.
The timing of Eid-ul-Adha is dependent on the sighting of the moon. If Dhul-Qa’dah in Pakistan consists of 29 days, Dhul-Hajj will start on June 8, aligning Eid-ul-Adha with June 17.
However, if it’s a 30-day month, Dhul-Hijjah 1445 Hijri will commence on June 9, and Eid-ul-Adha will be observed on June 18, Tuesday.
The extended holiday period allows families and communities to come together for traditional celebrations and religious observances.
