New Fee Structure and Process for Lost Passports in Pakistan – May 2024 Update

The Directorate General of Immigration and Passport has recently increased the fees for issuing passports across various categories.

The fee structure for lost passports has also been revised, with rates increased by 50 percent. Different slabs are now in place for the first, second, and third instances of losing a passport.

Procedure for a Lost Passport

If a passport is lost, a Police Report mentioning the previous lost passport number is required. The lost Machine-readable Passport number can be obtained from the nearest Regional Passport Office by submitting a written application along with copies of CNIC/NICOP or CRC (in the case of minors).

For applicants living abroad who have lost their passport for the third time, the Pakistan Mission abroad will assess the situation. If the applicant is gainfully employed and their request warrants consideration, the Pakistan Mission will refer the case to the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports for further instructions.
